Ruby Sandhu-Rojon is an expert in strategic planning and coordination, program management, diplomacy, and gender/women’s political and economic empowerment.
She is currently a Senior Advisor with HAMILTON Advisors Inc., a ‘Principals Only’ consulting firm comprised of seasoned government relations professionals, former senior officials, and social impact architects with expertise in a broad spectrum of global issues who provide strategic consulting solutions. She also serves as a Board Member for Trees for the Future, a nonprofit organization focused on land restoration in developing communities around the world.
Previously, Ruby served in multiple capacities with the United Nations including Resident Coordinator, Resident Representative, and Director of the United Nations Information Centre in Accra. Before that, Ms Sandhu-Rojon was the UNDP Country Director in Burkina Faso, acting as the UNDP Resident Representative for nine months during the country’s legislative elections.
She also served as the Chief of the Africa Section at the United Nations Volunteers Office in Bonn (2004-2006), a Senior Evaluation Adviser in the UNDP Evaluation Office in New York (2002-2004), the Deputy UNDP Resident Representative in Madagascar (1999-2002), Special Assistant to the UNDP Administrator in the Administrator’s Office (1997-1999), UNIFEM Regional Office in Senegal (1987-1997), and was the Programme Officer for the Africa Section of UNIFEM in New York. During her many years in the UN system, Ruby gained a deep knowledge of enhancing the attainment of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and the overall global development agenda.
Ms. Sandhu-Rojon holds a Master of Science in Russian Politics from the London School of Economics and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Bryn Mawr College in the United States of America. She is fluent in English and French.
