Paul Caulfield brings with him a wealth of high-level academic and industry experience in business and community engagement, having held senior roles in major investment banks and oil companies all over the world. He also has an extensive background in strategy, planning, corporate social responsibility, and the pragmatic integration of theory and practice in CSR.
Caulfield has held several senior industry roles, including with BP, where he was responsible for European strategic planning, community investment, and engagement strategy, focusing on improving sustainable interventions. Other industry roles included focusing on business modeling and venture finance for major European and US banks, including operational experience in MNC and NGO operations in the developing world, covering sustainable business development and capability building in Angola, Russia, Vietnam, and Bangladesh.
More recently, he sought a change in direction and joined the higher education sector, where he led the executive business education and MBA courses at the Universities of Bath and Nottingham as the director of their MBA Program in CSR and went on to be the Head of Executive Education and Corporate Relations at the Nottingham Business School. His research and teaching interests include Corporate Responsibility and new strategies for Sustainability, Corporate Community Investments, Employee Volunteering, Eco-entrepreneurship, and Sustainable Business Design.
Paul currently dedicates his time and knowledge to Nottinghamshire Hospice, where he is responsible for the overall governance and strategic direction and adds value in the areas of marketing and income generation.
