Dr. James Tansey is a serial entrepreneur and CEO of the global social enterprise Carbon Done Right Inc, a Canadian-based carbon credit developer of nature-based solutions that include avoided deforestation, reforestation, and mangrove and marine projects such as seagrass.
As a global expert on climate change, sustainability, and social entrepreneurship, James advises governments and companies globally and was a special advisor to the UN and the Olympic Committee.
He is a globally recognized business leader in carbon credits and impact investing, the Founder and CEO of Offsetters and Canvas Impact Advisors, and a professor at the Sauder School of Business at the University of British Columbia in Canada, teaching in the MBA, EMBA, and Executive Education programs.
He was awarded the BIV Top 40 under 40 in 2009 and was a finalist for the Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year Awards in 2010. He was also a 2013 recipient of the Queen Elizabeth Jubilee Medal for environmental contributions to the Province of British Columbia.
James received his Bachelor of Science and PhD in Environmental Sciences from the University of East Anglia.
