The Institute for Human Rights and Business (IHRB)-the Nairobi Process invites you to a two-day convening on ‘enhancing community engagement in Kenya’s extractives sector’ that is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, 10th and Wednesday 11th February 2015 at the Serena Hotel, Nairobi.
The forum will bring together representatives from government, national and county levels, oil gas and mining companies, national and county level civil society organizations and will focus on the sometimes-tense relations between companies and communities, why they remain and most importantly what each of the stakeholders can do to improve them.
The Nairobi Process uses a multi-stakeholder dialogue approach to promote responsible business practice based on respect of international human rights standards in the Kenya extractives sector. We hope that this forum will be an important step towards the creation of dialogue forums as a strategy for promoting stakeholder participation and management.
The agenda for the day will be shared in due course.
